As a military wife I know what it is like to be constantly on the move and never knowing very much about a new city until the day that you arrive.

And while that can sometimes be an exciting adventure it can also force you to become so busy trying to find the local grocery that you do not have time to really enjoy the new city. Our aim is to make that easier for you.

This website will help to introduce those who are coming to Colorado Springs to the many joys of the area including things to do in Colorado, the Colorado Springs Colorado airport, a few Colorado Springs businesses that you may need, Colorado Springs movie theaters and more.

Founded in 1871 by William Palmer, Colorado Springs is a study in contrasts that combines the best of all worlds. It is the second largest city in the state with a thriving cultural influence but has a friendly small town feel so that it seems easy to get to know your neighbors unlike many of today’s metropolises.

For the history buff, Colorado Springs was founded just before the gold and silver rushes and still retains many of the buildings and historic locations from that time period including tours of the Cripple Creek strike and mine.

Nature lovers will delight in a town that offers almost 300 days of sunshine per year for hiking, camping, rock climbing, and world class skiing and snowboarding. In fact Colorado Springs is so “sport” that it is home to the US Olympic training complexes!

The weather in Colorado Springs is temperate all year round partially because it is so well protected by the Rocky Mountains which surround it. Can you imagine skiing in the crisp cool air then going home to change into shorts to wash the car on the same day? You can in Colorado Springs.

Money Magazine has called Colorado Springs the number one “Best Place to Live” in both 2006 and 2010 for good reason, the beauty of the wide open spaces and mountains, the stable economy due to a strong military and technological presence and the all out friendliness of the inhabitants.
